GUEST HOUSE TERMS AND CONDITIONS GUEST HOUSE TERMS AND CONDITIONSReservations should be confirmed in writing, enclosing a deposit equivalent to your first night stay. You may confirm your requirements by telephone, or email with details of your favoured charge or credit card. (Please note a 2.5% admin charge is applied to credit card payments) On receiving a confirmation, an acknowledgement and receipt (where deposits are received) are sent by return email. Acknowledgment that you have read and understood the Terms & Conditions is required.
We will always make every effort to provide Guests with the Room of their choice, but must reserve the option of room allocation. Should it be necessary to alter room allocation, for any reason, we shall endeavour to provide one with at least as good as facilities. However if this is not possible and the room has fewer facilities then we will offer a refund of £5.00 per room per night.
On the rare occasion when damage occurs, by negligence or a deliberate action taken by a Guest which directly or indirectly causes loss to the Guesthouse, the Guest agrees to indemnify such losses, and that this forms part of the agreement at the time of booking. Losses include lost income, specialist expenses and the sourcing of alternative accommodation as necessary. In the event of the guest’s departure, the Guesthouse reserves the right to deduct the appropriate fee from the credit card number provided at time of booking. If keys are taken on your departure from the guesthouse we will deduct £150 from your credit/ switch card to cover the cost of replacement keys and inconvenience.
The Guesthouse operates a non-smoking policy throughout the house. Guests are welcome to smoke outside the property, where ashtrays will be provided. In the event of a guest(s) breaching the aforementioned policy, the Guesthouse will levy a charge for laundry and additional cleaning to the Guests final bill. In the event of the guest’s departure, the Guesthouse reserves the right to deduct the appropriate fee from the credit card number provided at time of booking. Charge £50 The Guesthouse is unable to store luggage upon guest’s departure. Left luggage lockers are located at St.Andrew’s Square and Waverly Train Station. Where Travel or Booking Agents charge us a fee, this is added to the normal tariff charges.
Where a reservation is made for a booking of more than 3 persons, a security bond will be applied. The bond will be 50% of booking or minimum of £200 secured on a credit card at time of arrival; this will be cancelled upon satisfactory inspection of guest’s room(s) the bond will be retained if there are any breakages, damage or disturbance at night, including ringing the bell after 8.00pm. Any guests staying will be charged a £50 fee if they cause noise or disturbance to other guests and/or the owners.
When a reservation is made, by telephone or in writing, and accepted, a contract exists between the Guest and the guesthouse. If for any reason the reservation is cancelled, in full or in part, a breach of contract exists. The guesthouse reserves the right to cancel a booking on any grounds it feels are necessary and will honour no liability by doing so. However the guesthouse will make every effort to find alternative accommodation for the guests, but it is not bound to do so. There will be no cancellation charge if a booking is cancelled before 0700 hrs GMT 14 days before your date of arrival. If the booking is cancelled later, or in the case of a no show, the entire stay will be charged unless otherwise stated in the room notes.
Terms, Conditions, Contracts and Disputes are determined under Scottish Law.
The Guest House 'closes' for arrivals at 9.00 p.m., at which time outstanding reservations are assumed to be non-arrivals. Non-arrivals are 'late cancellations'. A later check in is usually available but only with prior arrangement with the owners. Check in times are from noon. The latest check out time is 10.00 am, unless an alternative time has been arranged with the guesthouse.
We would suggest that Guests consider the merits of insurance cover that includes a cancellation risk.
